FTP: downloading files with accented characters

How can I do it? Anything with an accent, umlaut, squiggly thing or whatever is not working for me (I'm using BPFTP)!

BPFTP supposedly automatically picks the best choice, but i'll give a it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have the character set support installed on your computer? For instance, when you look at other documents or web pages known to have these same characters, do they display properly?

yeah, i used to know how to get into tricky directories back in my warez days i forget now.

No problems viewing text on web pages, only while using FTP. Will see if fiddling around with language settings makes any difference.
