My FTP and Web Server= teh suck
Annnd they're off....

I have a 2K Domain Controller running IIS, and three other comps plugged into a switch with a Linksys router going to the CM and off to the wide world of interweb ")

in the router, I have IP Forwarding for FTP(port 21) and "Web Server"(port 22) set to the IP of my 2K DC. All permissions and security have been set. When I go to my IP through a workstaion on my LAN (ex. ftp://23.34.45.56) I get the login box, log in and all is well. When I go to my web site (ex. http://23.34.45.56:22), I get my web site.

teh funny

when my buddy tries this from his house.. he does not get a login box, but straight to access denied message and cannot see my site at all. I know there is a wide variety of possible problems and solutions, so I send a request to you. I thank you in advance for your help ladies and gents.

If you have a router or NAT firewall then you will need to pinhole these ports to allow access from the internet

Other than IP Forwarding? I am not well versed in routers at all and though I had that taken care of.

I think linksys' have a default filter set to block those ports. If so you'll have to remove that first, regardless of what ports are forwarded, filters come first and would block said traffic.

Is your buddy specifically typing ip: port# ??? That's not a standard web port, so if he's not plugging in the port number, it'll try and hit your server on port 80.
