Okay here's the scoop....turned computer off, turned it on one day and my OS wouldnt' load. SO i did the following things.
1. formatted
2. tried to reinstall windows XP on my partitioned 30 gig HD (8 gigs for the OS) and 22 for other stuff
3. got the BSOD saying FTDISK.sys.
4. tried to install windows on another of my HD and got the same FTDISK.sys error
5. hooked HD up to another working computer and tried to use partition magic 8 to fix partition, woulnd't work saying there was bad partitioning geometry.
6. used windows computer management to fix partitions, reformatted again
7. Booted off of my hd, got an NTLDR error please press CTRL + ALT+ DEL message
8. Installed XP pro anyway and got the ftdisk.sys error again.
--so...is it my HD that is bad or is it just a bad installation of windows. I can probably copy the ftdisk.sys and the NTLDR files to my hd using another good computer becuase i can see the partitions and open them up. Think that would work or am i wasting my time?
thanks for any help
