All it takes is one idiot to go up to Redick and seriously harm him. I am worried about the safety of the players. You can't have that safety with hundreds of students (especially FSU students) rushing the court.

although i didnt watch so i wasnt sure when it happened, but courts get rushed ALL the time, ever seen the finals of the Tourney? how about Football rushes??

A football field is much bigger, so it's not so much a problem (tearing down the goalposts, however, can be very dangerous). If you saw the game, you would understand how emotions ran high and gradually reached a boiling point (hell, they rushed the court EARLY, for goodness sakes). If I were a Duke player, I would definitely be concerned for my safety in that situation.
