I was watching the FSN show "Best Damn Sports Show Period" and they were doing the top 50 blowups of all time. One of the blowups was a Pitino press conference when he was with the Celtics (the one where he says "Larry Bird is not walking through that door. Kevin McHale is not walking through that door. Robert Parish is not walking through that door.")
They previewed the next segment of the show before a commercial break (you know, one of those "after the break, blah blah blah" type deals), and part of that preview was a clip of Pitino saying "This town sucks!"
Well, after the commercial break, they got to the full clip, which had Pitino saying "The negativity in this town sucks."
It had a TOTALLY different meaning than the clip before commercial break. They basically cut Pitino's sentence in half to make Pitino look bad. This is even worse than taking words out of context. It's totally altering the meaning of what he said. I would say this would be similar to someone editing together a bunch of sound bytes of someone so that he says something truly despicable.
