My dell dj did not survive the move (from one house to another) yesterday. it plays music, backlight works, but LCD shows nothing :

i'll open it up tomorrow. if I am lucky, maybe it'll just need a bit of soldering...but I doubt it.

I just don't have any luck with mp3 players. This is my third one and not one has yet to last for more than a year. :frown:

no warranty..brought it used...luckily, it was cheap ($130).

now if anybody has a cheap 15+gb...let me know...I will have to start following FSFT soon...

Open it up to see if the connect for the lCD just came loose. My ipod screen would cut out, and that was the culprit, (the backlight is proly conected with another plug).

OR Try to buy a DJ of the same model with a brok hdd or board...then replace the lcd
