So? Unless iTunes is utter crap and the files that you pay for are compressed to death (I have no experience with it and don't wish to)

Using my PC......It's a NetMD player. It has been pwrking well with my regular mp3s.....


 
itunes saves your music purchase history....maybe contact itunes support and see if they'll give you a credit to "re-purchase" the music?
