I saw the Burger King / Amazon commercial where they were advertising the Fantastic 4 Cash Cards so for lunch we decided to go to Burger King.

Looking at the promotional poster, it says that if you purchase a Large meal you get a cash card worth at least $1 in Amazon credit, but it could be worth up to $10,000 or some high number. Anyway, since it says you basically get $1 to use towards Amazon purchases, we all decide to get Large Meals. We usually just get burger + fry's and take our food home (because most of the time the Burger King has a strong cleaning solution smell to it). But since you get $1 cash card and most large meals are $4 - $5, it made sense just to upgrade and get the credit.

Go home, see if any of the Cash Cards are worth more than $1. Nope. :( Then I stumble across this little gem located on the FAQ for the Cash Cards.
Q. If I have multiple Cash Cards, can I add all of their values together?

A. No. You can collect more than one Amazon credit, but Amazon Credit is not accumulative, which means you cannot add Amazon Credits together.

Bloody fantastic, what was the point of buying 4 meals to obtain the cards? They purposely use the word the credit, yet nowhere state Limit 1 per Order anywhere on the promotional posters or on the card itself. You have to physically go on the internet and look it up in their FAQ. Like they're purposely hiding this fact from the public.

There's not a lot I can do now, but why would I ever want multiple $1 off coupons (cause really, that's what pretty much all of them are) for orders at Amazon? What would be the point?

I'm trying to look up laws in California which might protect customers against this kind of misleading terminology. I remember reading an article about some guy who purchased a ringtone through Jamster and his state's laws said something about the text having to be so big and viewable for so long. I'd think the same would go for advertisements like that. I want my damn $4 and change I spent upgrading to Large Meals. :(

i upgraded to a large meal : they wouldn't give me a cup with the card. I had to ask the manager and he just told me to write in. If i wasn't on a schedule i woulda stayed to bitch, but alas i had to get going so i just took the loss and vowed NEVER to eat at BK again.

Seriously. I need someone to start a Class Action Lawsuit for punitive and emotional damages. That way I can jump on the bandwagon for free money :)

uh, the point is to get you to buy some food at BK
that is what promotions are about

promotions are NOT about helping you, the customer, they are about increasing sales, in this case get people to buy more BK food and get the same peoples to visit Amazon to buy junk off that web site

I'll still eat at Burger King, I think it's more Amazon's trickery than BK's. I'll still never trust a contest like this again though.

Yeah, but the last promotion was that Jedi scratch off thing. If you scratched off the correct one, then you won a food prize.

It helped both BK and the customer.

I thought the promotion was fairly obvious. I didn't think for a minute that the credits were cumulative.

The fact that it does not state anywhere on the card itself that there is a limit one credit per Amazon order is a bit deceiving though, right?

I've got four of them. But I was under the impression by both the posters and commercial, they'd be stackable :(

point is, if you didnt feel sick in some way after eating and still made off with a buck after eating there, you shouldnt complain, that place is terrible and not worth half a chance at 10 grand

I used to work near a crematorium and it smelled a little too much like BK, and haven't eaten at a BK since.
