FSB vs. Memory bus speeds on i815

Hello,

With PC 133 memory, can the memory controller in the i815 chipset run at full PC133 speeds even if coupled with an older 66 Mhz FSB CPU, or is it limited to the CPU's FSB?

Thanks,

David

Anybody?

Basicly, I am wondering if i should get some PC133 memory to go with a new i815 mainboard I am getting... Considering that I will be using a Celeron w/ 66 Mhz FSB...

Yes, i815 runs the CPU FSB and the RAM bus at the same frequency.

The "PCxxx" moniker is just the MAXIMUM speed a DIMM can take, irrelevant to the ACTUAL speed you'll be running it at. Just go buy normal PC133 RAM, and have your system run it at 133 or lower.
