FSB speed problems

I have been trying all night to get my new system to reach an fsb of 233 so that I can take full advantage of my DDR 466 pc3700 EB OCZ memory, but any time I crank up the FSB I get a blue screen when running benchmarks (about 50% of the time).

The mobo is an Asus A8V Delux with an FX-53 cpu. The memory is 4 x 256 OCZ 3700 EB

I have tried 215mhz fsb with a multiplier of 11 and 12
I have tried 233mhz fsb with a multiplier of 10.5

I tried voltages anywhere between 1.5v to 1.7v, though I don't think this is the problem since I am not overclocking my cpu very much.

I have tried setting my DDR voltage to both auto and 2.8v (the 3700EB is rated at 2.8)

also, I have an old geforce fx 5200 atm (waiting on shipment of x800 XT's). Could this crappy card be responding poorly to a hike in agp bus speeds?

Should I be having any problems changing my fsb? Am I totally misinformed and going about this the wrong way?

Thanks for any help in advance.

ok, somebody suggested to me trying an FSB of 233mhz with a memclock ratio of 1:1.

I tried this and loaded up CPU-Z and it reported that my memory speed was 116.5mhz. Does this make any sense, or do I have a bad mobo?

Yo,

OK so I "know" very little about this mobo, only that I just got it today and am setting my new rig up this week.

Anyway, I have seen elsewhere that memory other than what is listed on the webstie as "approved" for this board has been a big problem. Might want to try memory that's listed here.

Just my 2 cents...

No pci/agp lock will definitely hamper you in the fsb department. Make sure that is working The Via chipsets are notorious for flaky (i.e. not working) pci/agp locks
