Let me spell it out for you. First I'll have to decipher your question...

"What FSB would I have to be on if I overclock and AMD athlon 3200+ 200 mhrz? What about 400 mhrz?"

Meaning = I have an XP 3200+ that I would like to overclock.
What FSB would I have to run my MB to get a 200MHz overclock increase? Also, what FSB would I have to run my MB to get a 400MHz increase?

Answer = Your XP 3200+ has a multiplier setting of 11. Therefore your 3200+ runs a default speed of 2200MHz (11 x 200 = 2200).
In order for you to overclock your XP 3200+ by 200MHz, you would have to run your FSB at 218MHz. (11 x 218 = 2398).
In order for you to overclock your XP 3200+ by 400MHz, you would have to run your FSB at 236MHz. (11 x 236 = 2596).

I posted the Link to the Tech-Report CPU grid... Your Athlon 64 3200+ has a multiplier of "11"... Now you do the math!

We will expect a report on your findings. Make sure to show all your calculations (upload a jpeg).

actually, the 3200+ hes talking about (NewCastle) has a multiplier of 11. it even sais it on that chart. hence the wowing :)

The numbers that Blain so kindly offers are not something to get stuck on because your RAM, mobo, or whatever else may be a factor. Running my RAM at tight timings, 1:1 with the CPU*, which I think is optimal, I can't get past 217. It's fine though. Likewise the 236 number, 233 or 234 may work better for you.

Now it could be possible for me to to slack the memory timings, give it a more voltage all around, up the FSB and still work. I forget if I tried it or what the limitation is, possibly mobo. With my mobile chip I can up the multiplier, so that gives some flexibility. Tweak it, run some tests like Prime95 and Sandra, and make a table as you do your tests so it is easier to zero in on the sweet spot.

Anyone please correct me if something wrong.

* PC 3500 = DDR 433MHz / 2 (since it is DDR) = 216.5 =~ 217
