FSB Question

My mobo can't do a FSB higher than 219. However, I wanted to see if I could try ramping my memory speeds higher by using a higher ratio with a lower CPU FSB. I guess I was just trying to find the limits of my memory. Well, I set my memory at 120% with a CPU FSB of 183, so it gave me 220 memory FSB effectively. No boot. Tried setting my memory with more lax timings, and no boot still. Is this because my board maxes out at 219 FSB, or because my memory hit its wall? I'm thinking it's because of my board, because my memory seems that it should have lots more headroom. I was just hoping for confirmation from someone who's in the know. Thanks.

Sounds like the 219 limit was the RAM and not the CPU or Mobo to me. Could still be more than 1 items though.

Try upping the voltage on the ram and try again.

Sorry, forgot to mention that voltage is at 1.90v, and that's as far as I can go. I'm currently running the RAM at 2-3-3-6 @ 216 FSB, and with low timings and a CAS setting of 2, I figured these sticks should have more room in them, which is why I was leaning towards the board being the problem.

i agree with you.. i'm leaning towards the board.

seems as though most of the nforce2 boards max out or around the 220 mhz mark

:)

try a new board? dfi infinity/lanparty?
