FS/T: Tiny Single Board Computers, 2.5" Hard Drives, mp3 players, more

SBC #1 is an Advantech PCM-5820 board. 233Mhz Geode low power CPU, Cyrix 5530(Media GX) chipset with built-in video and sound. Built-in Realtek 10/100 ethernet. 2 serial, one parallel, one IDE(two devices), onboard Compact Flash(bootable), and a PC/104 interface. Also has an onboard LCD interface, I've run a 12" LCD directly from one of these. Best part, it's tiny. Smaller than a 3.5" hard drive. Just under 4"x6", can be made to fit anywhere a 3.5" hard drive fits. Very low power, uses about 15 watts with hard drive and a CD drive(laptop parts). Board alone uses under 8 watts! Can run off of 5 volt only, too. Power hookup is a standard molex. Comes with cable kit and a 64MB SODIMM for memory. Driver support is out there for pretty much everything, although XP support is very poor. Works great under 98, NT4, 2k, and even Linux.

$80 shipped, these go for $300+ new. Price not negotiable, I'll just keep it for another project.

SBC#2 is an Advantech PCM-5825. Same as above, but with a faster 300MHz Geode CPU and 2 more serial ports(4 total).

$SOLD

Also have a 12" LCD touchscreen that will work with either of the above. Samsung LTM121SI-T01, 800x600 screen. 3m Microtouch touchscreen overlay. Includes all cables needed. Would prefer to sell this with one of the SBCs, so I'll cut someone a good deal on an SBC and LCD. If I sell one SBC, I will NOT sell the other without this screen.

Anyway, $150 for the LCD setup alone, $220 with the PCM-5825, $210 with the PCM-5820.

SBC#3 is an Arbor EmETX-i702. This is an ETX form factor System-On-Module. Supports 400MHz FSB Pentium-M and Celeron-Ms from 1.3GHz to 2.0GHz. Fulls specs at the link. Bare board only, no manuals, cables, or carrier board. The one I have is slightly different than at the link, it doesn't have the ISA bridge chip on board. Sort of a "legacy-free" setup. Board was well over $500 new, has served its purpose and been replace with a custom board so I'm trying to recoup what I can. This is for the advanced tinkerer, it needs a carrier board and custom heatsink to be of much use. Carrier boards(normal ATX and 5.25" EBX) run around $120 but can be found used. Comes with 256MB DDR SODIMM, too.

$75 shipped, might be able to find a carrier board for an extra cost

ECS iBuddie/Desknote, one of those "laptops" with no battery. This one has a 533MHz Transmeta Crusoe, 256MB RAM(full-size PC133 stick), 20GB hard drive, 24(?)x CD-ROM. Nice 13.3", 1024x768 LCD. AC97 audio, 10/100 network, 56k modem, serial, parallel. 4 USB for expansion. LOW, LOW power usage(under 25 watts max) and NO FANS!!! VERY quiet, only thing you might hear is the hard drive. Performance isn't as bad as one might think, pretty close to a PIII/Celeron at the same speed. Currently loaded with WinME, but it will be wiped before shipping. No case/bag, sorry.

$200 shipped, $250 shipped with a 40GB hard drive and USB 802.11B wireless adapter

Hard drives - all working fine
40GB Seagate Momentus 2.5" laptop drives, 5400rpm, 8MB cache, pretty sure all under warranty - $65 each shipped, ONE LEFT!!!
40GB IBM Travelstar, no warranty - $40 shipped

Some other stuff, shipping NOT included if it's not listed:

10GB 2.5" laptop drive based mp3 player. "Songbank", not the latest or greatest but it works. Easily upgradeable to a larger drive. Comes with Songbank, carry case, power adapter, USB cable, manual, and driver/software CD. Doesn't come with the original ear buds, because they've been used and that's just gross to pass on to another person. - $100 shipped

RCA Lyra WMA player with 32MB Compact Flash card - Model RD2201A - Refurb that comes with all the original bits. Allegedly plays mp3s, but uses some dumbass encryption. Works GREAT with wma files and uses compact flash cards for storage. I've had no problems with multiple 256MB cards, but haven't tried any larger. Not an iPod by any stretch, but cheap and reliable. - $30 shipped, add a 256MB flash card for $15 more

Creative 4GB Muvo shell with battery and car power adapter - Nothing else, just the shell, battery, and adapter. - SOLD

These are OEM with very light use, BUT the ones with 5 year warranties. Should all be covered until 2010.

To be specific, they are this model.
