FS/T Question . . .

If someone posted an item FS and two people mades offers, one through PM and one by replying to the post, which one takes precedence?

Thanks

Whoever bumped my, err, the thread first.

If neither did, and by the time I get around to replying, someone else bumps it, I give them priority.

that's a horrible trading practice.

How so?

When someone has something for sale, I give him a bump, and shoot off a PM. I don't give him a PM and no bump, thinking the thread will fall lower, with less people seeing it.

The scenario isn't as cut and dried as who gets precedence. The first one to reply is a good system, however the seller needs to evaluate which option is best for her/him also, so keeping that in mind (which one would probably do for themselves anyhow), a suitable decision can be made.

Check the heatware rating as well. You don't want to sell to somebody that may cause problems for you. If the heatware ratings are similiar, I say go by time.

It is up to the seller completely

...some go by bumps, by dibs, by heat, by gut feeling, by whatever the fvck they want. If this other guy got the item, I really don't think you have a case at all.

I agree here

This discussion has been made before, and if you ask me, it's cool to give a "YGPM" at the thread, but it's not required. I mean, if the last response was "YGPM", then isn't it suffice to say that the person will still see they need to check their PMs?

If you are the one selling it is not the potential buyer's responsibility to see that your stuff gets sold.

But whatever.

stupid ass rule.

I say in my FS threads, "best way to contact me is either through PM or bumping this thread".

If they do both, great, if they do just one, awesome as well. I don't give a fsck how they communicate to me as long as they do. I don't say "oh well, you PMed me, but didn't bump...sorry can't sell to you"...that's just plain ass dumb.

My goal in FS is to sell my sh!t, so if someone wants to buy it, I ain't gonna blow them off b/c they didn't bump my thread.

So all you babies about PM and bumping threads...waaaaaahhh waaaaahhh wahhhhhhhh.
