After people sell their items in FS/T, they often edit the posts to remove the price of each item as it's sold, and then once everything is sold, they remove the entire post text, leaving the body (and often the title) simply saying 'sold'. Wouldn't it be a good idea to encourage sellers to leave their posts as-is? Maybe ad a suggestion in the FS/T FAQ. This info would really help out future buyers and sellers when trying to figure out how much offer/ask for items. I don't remember AT being this way in the distant past, and seems to be a thing that has caught on in just the past few years.

If there isn't one, couldn't you add a prefix for SOLD?

Another forum I frequent lets sellers close their threads, and the prefix changes to CLOSED.

I agree, but making it a rule will be hard. It's what I do when I sell in FS/FT. See here or here.
