FS/T ethics.. is this ethical?

so I sold an item via FS/T to person B

then person B is selling the same exact item to person C (pending I think)

then person C contacted me directly and asked me what the term of the deal between me and person B is..

should I answer?? Is this ethical?

Don't answer person C. F him. You sold your crap to person B, it's his business now. Tell person B to go F himself.

That's a sticky situation. I would have no issues commenting on how the deal went but the specifics of the selling price (if it's not posted) may hurt the other sale. I always post the selling price after I sell something so it's not an issue for me.

I agree, basically...

Edit: I sort of misread the OP. I would probably have no problems with telling person C about the original sale, I think..

why would the term of the deal matter?

If person B is asking more than he paid, person C may use that to lower the price.

oic, i thought person c just meant how the deal went, and how long it took etc...not the price...

with that said, I would not tell person C, tell him to go check prices himself.

yeah, person C can more or less go fvck themselves, because this deal has nothing to do with the price person B paid. Although if I was person C I'd probably be curious too.

Is the deal with Person B still going on?

AFAIK, you cannot sell an item you do not have in your possesion, so if you still have the item, then Person B can't even try to sell the item yet.

its a done deal

I agree with those who say you can tell person C about how the deal went with person B (friendly, fast, etc.) but you should not mention any prices to person C as it doesn't concern you.

Wow. This is a sticky situation. Technically, you shouldn't disclose anything via PM as they are private messages. Memory's a bit foggy, but I think I remember people getting vacations for posting PMs on the board.

I wouldn't have a problem with saying "My asking price was $x". That's information that he/she could've seen in the FS/T forum post you made.

Buying and immediately reselling an item is awfully close to the dealer restriction placed on the FS/T forum. Maybe the mods should look into this?

As a card carrying Goody Two-shoes, I agree with eveyone above: I'd be willing to describe how the deal went (or point to HeatWare) but wouldn't say anything to undermine B's bargaining position.

Nope - whatever happens between you and person B, inside your house, how much you pay for what kinds of "services" is your own business. 😀

If person B bought this item within the past 2 weeks, then I'd tell person C what price you sold it for. If it was sold a long while ago, then I would do as everyone says above.

I don't think it's right to encourage people to buy prices from one person who has a low one only to sell it back to forum members at a higher price.

actually the transaction was indeed less than 2 weeks..

I wouldn't hesitate to tell C how the deal went, or the history of the item while you owned it. I would not, however, discuss pricing as that is realy between you and B. Although, as someone else already mentioned, I tend to leave my asking prices in my threads when items sell.

I wouldn't tell tell person C the terms and conditions of my business dealings with person B.
If I left trader feedback on ebay or heatware, they can check that out.
