You've turned me on ... I check the outlet store many times a day.

I've bought three systems in the last week.

I must stop ... I must stop ... Somebody help me!

?? You are getting rid of one, or you are letting everyone know about the offer?

I am getting rid of the one listed above... it was too good to pass up and I figured someone here would want it. $144 + $24 Dell handling charge + shipping to wherever you live via UPS... should come in under $200....

Did he really say that to you Greg? If he only knew that you are a grandpa and married many years to a wonderful lady who puts up with your purchases..

Is it still available? My sister?s computer was killed by lighting, and I need to find something fairly cheap.

BTW Geoff, I did finally manage to locate that scratch -- it's on the very bottom of the case(a mini-tower) so you can't see it ordinarily anyway. And even once you do turn it over, it's still hard to see as it's barely a quarter of an inch long.

If a customer was so anal as to return it to Dell for that reason alone, I'd say Dell is better off not having them as a customer. ;)

Well... my celeron 2.53 is outcrunching my P4-2.0... guess it really depends on the project you're running and how much it relied on cache, etc as opposed to just clock speed...

Curse you GeoffS, CURSE you. :p

Just ordered this one for $219.

Dimension 3100/E310 Mini-Tower: Intel Pentium 4 Processor 521 w/HT Technology (2.8GHz,800FSB) Genuine Windows XP Home, 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz (2 DIMMs), 80 GB EIDE Hard Drive (7200 RPM), 48X CD RW Drive and more Dell bloatware than you can imagine.

Watching that fracking site is addicting. Oh, just realized, Tax writeoff. :D Got to love those buisness expenses.

That looks very much like the one that I bought from Geoff, 'cept mine had a DVD writer and Windows MCE, which I promptly blew away and replaced with XP Pro sp2 courtesy of the MS Action Pack. ;)

I do have to say - these Dimension 3100s are so darn quiet - very nice to have in a home office. :)

RobertE... if you don't get a tracking number from them, do an online chat and tell them you need it and it's a real inconvenience to have to ask for it... they've given me credits of $20 and $35 on orders I've placed recently because of this 'inconvenience' :) I'm 2-for-3 on getting a credit when I contact them! :p

The Dell system hates me. It thinks I'm with division 22, whatever that is. So I can't get any info online. So off to the phone system I go. I think the CSR I got was in a country that was recently/currently/will be/should be bombed by the US Air Force.

The call went something like this:
Me: I'm trying to get my tracking numbers for my recent order but the computer won't give up the information.
CSR:
CSR: Please verify your blah blah blah blah
Me: My information is blah blah blah
CSR: We show you ordered X & X through home, you can get your information there.
Me: :|
Me: I've tried that it won't let me.
CSR: Oh, I see your with company "22"
Me:
Me: What is company "22"
CSR: <silence>
Me: :|
Me: Can you just give me the tracking numbers?
CSR: They are X & Y.
CSR: Anything else?
Me: Yeah, this is nonsense to go through all of this just to get a tracking number. It should have been sent out when the items shipped.
CSR: ahhhh

The end.

The DHL tracking number for the mouse works. The UPS one don't. We shall see. :p
