Ok, I traded a certain trader, who I will not reveal the identify of unless he does so himself, my Radeon 7500, a Logitech QuickCam, and a Chrome Orb for his GeForce 3 Ti200. Now he wants to trade cards again because he doesn't like the performance of the Radeon 7500.

I don't think I have a reason at all to send the card back to him. He said he does not like the performance of it and he is having problems with it. I know for a fact that I had no problem running either RTCW or UT at 1024x768 at very acceptable framerates (I never bothered to check exact numbers), and could have probably gone higher and still run them at that resolution. I stated exactly, to the T, the condition of the card, that I used the drivers that were in the box, and had no problem. I never even installed any updated drivers, so that issue is not mine to comment on.

AT PERSON: hey dude, you around??

Auto response from Original Boski: LOLOLOLKEKEKEKEYUP

AT PERSON: ill be here till 10:40

Auto response from Original Boski: LOLOLOLKEKEKEKEYUP

AT PERSON: i hate to do this, but i would like to swap cards back. ill send you this one. and you send me the geforece3. i am not liking the performance and the problems as well. please contact me asap
AT PERSON: PLEASE

Auto response from Original Boski: LOLOLOLKEKEKEKEYUP

Original Boski: thats not how it works at all

Auto response from AT PERSON: I am not here, so I might get back to you later. BYEBYE
O:)

Original Boski: you cant just say "i dont like it"
Original Boski: we agreed to the deal, you said ok, i said ok we traded
Original Boski: i disclosed all the information about the card i had

I am Original Boski, and the guy I traded with is, of course AT PERSON.

I don't feel that I should have to send the card back to him, or accept the cooler, camera or card from him. We both consented to the deal, the deal went through without a hitch, and now this.

What do you all have to say?

UPDATE

AT PERSON has now mentioned that the card he has now (the Radeon 7500) is priced less than the Ti200, so he wants me to trade him back!

AT PERSON: well you tell me that you had n0 problems and that it worked great and y did it reboot on me during the night when i was asleep??
AT PERSON: so i guess there is no way i can get the card back then huh??
Original Boski: well, your card rebooted on me a few times when i first installed it as well
Original Boski: it was traces of radeon drivers
Original Boski: it even rebooted while i was playing single player UT not two days ago, its a reboot, not the end of the world
AT PERSON: i would still like to get my card because i checked the price on the card on pricewatch and it is much lower than my card is
Original Boski: ok... the card you have now cost less than the one you had so you want a trade
Original Boski: no dice

AND MORE, maybe he will just be quiet now.

AT PERSON: what is the deal, dont you honor someone the benefit of testing out a card first and if they arent satisified that the deal can be undone??
Original Boski: thats not the point
Original Boski: i checked the price on the card on pricewatch and it is much lower than my card is
Original Boski: you realized you made a dumb deal and you want me to give you grace for your unintelligence?
Original Boski: you will get eaten up in the real world
AT PERSON: yes i made a dumb deal, so what, you werent completely honest with me about the card and its specs either
Original Boski: what did i lie about?
Original Boski: i told you exactly what i knew about the card
AT PERSON: ok, nm
AT PERSON: sorry

#1) The performance issue - No merit. He should have researched the product before he agreed to the trade.

#2) The "problems" - Maybe, depending on the problems. He could really push this card if he wanted to, you'd really have no defense.

as long as everything you sent him works, then it's not your problem. If he can't install drivers, it's his problem.

Trade is done, complete, finito. Unless the card was DOA you don't have to trade back if you don't want to.

Gonna have to agree on this one, along with everyone else posted. The situation is a done deal -- you both agreed upon the products to be traded and they were in working condition when traded. If the person wants their stuff back, TOUGH. If they didn't like the framerates of the 7500, they should have thought of that first before trading (who would trade a ti200 over a 7500 for performance is beyond me).

He should have done his research first. I think everyone agrees, as long as there is nothing physically damaged on the card you traded, the deal is done.

I had enough of his ignorant remarks, and just saw fit to block him. He was trying to tell me that he had better performance from his Kyro card than the 7500.

Wow.

I think the deal is finished, and I think he's just not happy because he made an unwise decision.

Don't send it back.

Be a nice guy, and trade it back. He doesn't deserve it, but enlighten yourself to a higher state and give it back.

dont you honor someone the benefit of testing out a card first and if they arent satisified that the deal can be undone??

I have never heard of this "honor", written or unwritten. I would call it a form of generosity in a deal, but certainly not associate it with "honoring" a deal, nor a legitimate 'expectation'.

Maybe there are some more alternatives where he could make it worth it to you, or desirable for you, to switch. But a trader MUST do his homework beforehand...and in this case it might mean knowing what FPS's is expected, and asking you what you're getting etc. first.

Imo you definitely have the full right with complete integrity to say no.
