Why are weapon sales not permitted?

Yeah, except it's illegal to ship a gun anywhere except a gun shop...which won't sell to people under 18 for rifles or under 21 for handguns.

I suspect that just the attorney fees alone, defending against even just one lawsuit, even a frivolous lawsuit, would be prohibitive to Anandtech, if someone broke the law using a firearm purchased here.

I think you got your answer above, but if you are NOT asking in reference to a firearm, then your question is still unanswered.

Good question, though. Perhaps classification of weapons may be needed? I know many people collect samurai swords and the like...but I guess current policy would ban their sale here?

There are *plenty* of sites that have gun auctions. It's not a wild concept, you pay the person selling the gun through MO or paypal or whatever, then they ship from their gun shop to your gun shop.

There are *plenty* of sites that have gun auctions. It's not a wild concept, you pay the person selling the gun through MO or paypal or whatever, then they ship from their gun shop to your gun shop.

You hit the nail right on the head. There are plenty of other sites that have/sell guns. If your in the market, those are the sites you need to go to, not a tech site. And fwiw, a seller can ship to an FFL on his own, there is no need for 2 FFLs to be involved.
