"not even fair" would actually apply here as crossfire is not currently working in oblvion, may be fixed in cat 6.4

Article

despite what the ati cheerleaders around here claim, a second review which shows that regardless of which product you own, oblivion performance will be similar.

those with ati x1k cards will be able to enjoy HQAF however 🙂

edit: sorry repost

But the X1800XT beat out the 7900GTX according to my interpretation of that review! And the author's were shooting for a 30-35 fps mark on all maps. The 1800 still did 50+ on the indoor maps where the 7900GTX redeemed itself from the beating it took in the outside maps. (You bought the right card IMO!!)

i did think this comment in the article was erroneous:

"Breaking it down at the various price points, we?ve got to
give the edge to NVIDIA by default at the $300 mark, simply because
we?re still trying to get our hands on a 256MB Radeon X1800 XT
card"

you can get a retail x1800xt 512mb card for $330 - close to the $300 range, and certainly priced alongside the mutiple 7900GT's that are over the $300 mark as well (not to mention the 256mb version has been avail on newegg for $289 for 2 weeks now) .

in fact, i'd say it's actually easier to get the XT right now than the GT 😕

Yeah I really like FS reviews but I think that comment and comparison was a little off. Nvidia still seems to own in SLI. I know its a driver thing with ATI right now in this game but Nvidia always seems to be that 1-2 steps ahead in SLI.
