Fry's ad has the 74gb raptors for $229.99 - $50 savings = $179.99. Good price for retail packaging.

Linky

So far it's been confirmed on the west coast Fry's. The $50 savings is instant! Limit 1 so bring a buddy or walk in/out/back in if you wanted more to do raid.

I don't remember my Frys EVER having a Raptor for even $239 let alone $179. I wonder if its a misprint and the $229 is after savings? Also I've never seen a RETAIL Raptor. I'll have to make a trip to Frys at lunch. I wouldn't mind doing RAID.

The San Jose Murky News ad online (NorCal) Says "$229 BEFORE SAVINGS" and savings is at $50. I am beckoned by the leetness.

Fry's lately has been driving me into bankrupcy with all these hot deals.

Sweet. Does it say if it's a rebate or a straight '50 off' discount? Also, is there a limit of one or can you get 2?

I hit Oregon's lone Fry's at lunch. Yes, it is $179.99, no waiting. Yes it is '1 per customer'. $*@#$ ... guess I'm waiting to build my RAID. It is a retail package too, not OEM. No tax either!

Hey Funkier, I can purchase one for you if we meet up somewhere around Beaverton. You'll need to buy me lunch though :p Send me a PM if interested.

I bought 2 of these at the Sacramento FRY's today. They told me it's a limit of 1 per customer when I went to pay for it but she let me buy 2 of them buy ringing it up seperately. It was $179 each and it was a RETAIL package. This is the first time I've ever seen a retail Raptor.

WOOOOOOOOT! leaving work a half hour early paid off. I think i just scored the last 2 at the anaheim store.

I walked in and was disappointed when i couldnt find these things, then, i found one in the back hiding in the shadows. I really wanted to go for 2, but all they had were the 36gb ones. I look through all the 36ers, i look in the back of all the sata drive nothing. Then, out of the corner of my eye, at the end of the hard drive row is a lone green box. If you listened closely, you could hear its crys
"smackattack.... SMMMMAAACKattack..... take me hoooome.... raiiiiid me.... take me home....."

ahahah, with 2 in my hands all i need to do is flash a smile and see if I can get the register chick to ring these up separately. Problem is, im short cash to pay for one and need to charge both, now they gotta get approval to run the card twice. DOH! Dude rolls over, starts talking about how sweet the drives are. A little anti SCSI banter, and a nice cheery attitude sure helps when he takes a look in the bag and sees the first drive sitting in there. He give me a look (dumb grin on my face), looks at the bag, then signs off on the charge. Booyah! Man, this stuff never works for me, im money today!
