Nice to see memory continuing to go back down. Still not as good as
it was about 6 months ago, but it is going in the right direction.

bargainshopper: Thanks for catching that. I amended my post.

leonc: You're right. From what I've read, memory prices are supposed to start trending down for awhile. I'm going to pick up a stick of that 512MB DDR for $99.

Here's the link to the Fry's Ad in the L.A. Times.

epox mobo/xp1800+ retail cpu for $199 is decent. the mobo is not bad, used it to build a machine for someone and is stable. not sure if it overclocks well. if you grab the combo and just want the discounted cpu price, have someone return the mobo for you and request refund back to credit card. normal price on the mobo was around $99, so adjusted prices are probably $85/$115. for comparison, retail cpu is $113 + $7 + tax (if applicable) at newegg.

Hmmm, the model number Fry's lists in their ad (cdx-ca700x) is a Sony Headunit that does not play mp3's.

Either they got the description and model number wrong, or Fry's is playing with our heads again! :(

<< Retail -> no worrying about whether the drive is under warranty or not (and for how long). >>

That what I was thinking. Although, I do like my two WD1200JBs from Dell! :D
