Fry's had the same combo (ECS K7S5A Mobo w/Duron 1.0GHz OEM CPU for $89) on sale last Sunday in Burbank. I grabbed one without giving it a second thought and built a nice little system. Now I just have to find someone who wants to buy it.

😉

I wish there was a Frys in Chicago. Damnation.....anyone have the sku for the ECS combo perhaps I can order it off the web.

<Pacific Digital (rebadged Lite-on?) 16/10/40x CD-RW = $49.99 after $20 MIR>

I'm looking at the ad for the St. Patrick's Day sale from San Diego store. It has the 16x dvd drive for $49 "no rebate required". Its #3042329. Does anyone know whether this is indeed a lite-on rebadge?

I was going to order the deal from Dell, but I put it off....

<< is Frys owned by Radio shack company? >>

You might be thinking of Incredible Universe, which was a big electronic warehouse that was closed down and had alot of their stores bought up by Fry's. The 2 here in Dallas and Arlington used to be Incredible Universes, and the delivery trucks still have their logo. IIRC, I think Fry's is still privately held.

Thanks Dan,
checking your link, it definitely looks like the drive, but the box is very different, maybe a rebadged BTC. It's listed as 48X cd rom though Fry's ad says 40X - seems there's often this discrepency with these 16Xdvd's.
Anyway, anyone know anything about the BTC drive?
Dan, do you have the # for the drive you said may be the Lite-on? I may drive down there today or tomorrow. maybe they have that one too though it's not in the SD ad.
Dave

if anyone needs the sku #s just post, I went and shelled out 50 cents
for the LA Times ad so I have it all in front of me.

On a side note, they also have:
a smoke detector for $2.99 (654241)
3 piece computer speakers for 9.99 (3083939)
and cyberpower 575sl UPS for 29.99 (3266851)

xanatos....(Wow cool! too bad its so small you cant see anything......=( )

Just click on the part of the ad you want to see better and another window will open showing a enlarged picture.
