Clink - Clink (My Cajones when I walked into Fry's)

I went in the back way and found a spot in 12 seconds. I waited a minute for a lady to pull out and bingo I was parked.

Grabbed a cart and started filling.

Maxtor 60 gig X 2 (Had wife with me)
PS2 Bundle
Die another Day DVD X 2
Cheap $37 DVD player
Crock Pot
Half-Life Platinum Pack X 2
Shredder (cause it was FAR)

We found everything we were looking for quickly, and got in line. Yes the line was long, but moved very quickly. I have never, repeat never checked out so quickly. We were in line less than 10 minutes.

Out the door, and out the back way...

The CompUSA anniversary "sale" was way worse, less parking, the quantities of the "sale" items were very low and checkout was terribly slow.

What's the regular price on the 64mb pen drive?
That was the only thing I was interested in...next to yet another copy of Half-life.

My friend and I almost bought one each of those blaupunkt dvd/mp3/cd players with 5.6 TFT screen for $149 for both for in the car. However, it was $119 to install it so we said screw it. He got the 160GB for $80 after two MIR. I got a 60GB for $70 - $50 MIR = $29. Gonna go to Arco (it's 6:30am) and get a paper and see if it's worth going early this morning. It was a madhouse last night and I might've ruined my muffler parking in the dirt lot hopping the curb with all those 4x4 trucks. Maybe car repairs will make any deals I scored seem worthless..hehe.

Drive 45min to the store. Wait another 45min to purchase the stuff. And another 45min drive home. Sheesh.

hahaha I laugh at your puny 45 minute wait times. Brass cohones... Bah! Try steel ones... I live up north, in the bay area and I waited for a little over 4 hours in line the day after Thanksgiving. To give you a clue as to how long the lines really were, it snaked around the store once and then went up and down about 3 full aisles. The wait was soo long the managers sent out some lackies with coolers full of cold sodas and candybars to keep customers happy(and in line). They had some sick deals, like usb cigar storage for free AR. free rechargable batteries AR. But this one deal on the maxtor 80gigs with 8meg buffer for 39 bucks each AR that made the whole trip worth it. I got 3 drives and I also got 3 rebates back. Woot! Made waiting in line for a fifth of my day well worth it. I figure any drive that equates at 1 gig for less than 50cents is utterly amazing.

The San Marcos line was not bad last night -- probably only waited 20 minutes or so. Got my K7S5A (the second) and it OCs the 2400 nicely (with Cheepoman BIOS), however it's only stable at 140mhz OC(138fsb) as the Northbridge gets too hot after that -- need to fix that soon :D

It was a madhouse but well organized...

I got myself the 60 gig maxtor
die another day
and 2 50 ct spindles of cds for 5 bucks each

oh, and steel or brass cajones play nothing into this mix... it is just patience, I drove in found a parking spot right away and jumped in line... bout 10 min outside and bout 10-15 to purchase... either go w/ a friend or make one in line and everything breezes by :)

I do have to say parking was bad.... while waiting to turn onto Bent Dr off Grand I saw someone back into a parked car and drive off, but i was too far away to do anything about it... grrrr... people have no consideration for others when deals are around.

Dude if you knew anything about computer components its that prices are low now on hard drives because new technology (serial ATA) has come out recently that makes these older drives seem like childs play. I should also mention that the drives retail price when I got it was 190 dollars. I'm guessing by your comment earlier that you can do simple math, if so you can see that 39 bucks does not equal 190. Aside from all this congrats on the deal you got. Payce!

I went and it doesn't seem they have the greatest deals....but MAN was it busy!!

And what is everyone with those Sanyos!! Everyone had one or TWO with them...was it really that good of a Television?

I saw some 19 inch viewsonic that my friend wants to purchase for his moniterless PC for 199 but he backed out at the last minute and now regrets it because it takes like 35 minutes to get there

The store is HUGE though...

And what is with the store style? Who the hell thought that it would be smooth to mix aquariums with roman architecture and two paralell strips of steel with static electricity running through it? Talk about idiocy or something

I totally hear that. They went nuts on a couple of these places. There are 3 frys by my house. One is in the shape of a pyramid, another was a sphinx/ desert theme. And the one I like going to has a subtle roman theme, its barely noticable and actually looks half decent. I saw this other one in LA when I went with my cousin. It was pretty slick. They had an aliens taking over the earth battle theme. There was a flying saucer that crashed into the building and that made the overhang on the front of the building. Inside, it had a real army jeep that they literally cut in half and welded the cut to make it look like a laser did it. lastly they had some pretty cool looking aliens fighting US soldiers who were using those good old M16's. I think this one actually appeared the most cool and semi lifelike.
