So I went onto Outpost.com a few months ago to order up some more Western Digital hard drives, since I had previously gotten a few 160GB SATAs for $55 each, shipped. I noticed that they weren't selling any WD internals at the time, save Raptors. Thought to myself, "OK, they're just out of stock. I'll be back later to grab some." A few weeks ago I went back on... still, no WD internals (other than Raptors).
I called Fry's to see what was going on. The guy I talked to (who was very nice) told me, after 15 minutes on hold, that they haven't been receiving any internals from Western Digital as of a few months ago because of some thing he wouldn't go into. I don't know if he just didn't know or wasn't supposed to tell me. All I caught was something about a breach of contract, possibly about pricing. He said they were still placing orders for them, but that WD was not shipping the HDs to them.
Has anyone else heard about this? Was this guy just sh*tting me?
