Wow, so far I haven't seen any really hot 4th sales anywhere. Oh well, maybe that's for the best. :)

*edit* thanks viper!

You didn't mention the Samsung 1710 printer? List $200, $168 is the lowest on pricegrabber.com. Fry's (Houston) has it in the Friday ad for $200 - $50 instant gift rebate - $50 mail-in rebate = $100. Sounds good to me.

Are San Diego stores the same? Cuz our ad layout still looks different from LA/Orange layouts and it's been like a month since they decided to put the Grand Opening sales design on the ad.

Yeah, seems they are gunning for a bit more profit on this july 4th holiday. Well, they can do whatever they want, i don't care. I won't be buying nothing from them until they put up some items with juicy saving like last time 2000xp+mobo for 59... (^_^)

Why not put down the 10 extra bucks for the combo now. If it gets cheaper in the next 15 days (read: two Friday ads) or possibly the next 30 days, depending on how THEY choose to read their policy, you can get a price adjustment.

*edit* here are the LA Times ads: Look under Technology

Yeah, I was hoping Fry's would have a super sale too :(

The WD 200GB drive is retail, it clearly says so in the OP :)

I didn't mention the laser printer since I practically know nothing about printers in general (what a crappy excuse...)

Bought the ECS and XP2000+ a while back, it's GREAT! (no overclocking though)

Just wondering if there is a short benchmark of that vs, say, P4 800Mhz 2.4
ie what do you get for $250 vs paying $70

That is a tempting combo but I really don't want to have to wait in line to return it if it isn't stable.

ECS is very stable...that mobo isn't an overclocker but for stability it is one hell of a motherboard :)
It is just that so many are sold that you see its lemons pop up more :)

But I'm going today to pick up (At the San Marcos one) that combo, 40 gig hd, case+300wattpsu, memory and finally updating my parents rig. They have used their 233Mhz Pentium1 HP long enough by now and I figure this sytem should hold them for atleast the next 5 years just like our faithful HP (never thought I'd say that!) did.

EDIT:

If you are in the San Marcos area I called them up and I asked over these:
ECS Combo - In stock
512megs "Patriot Ram" [lol]- In stock
Case - In stock
HardDrive - They won't honor the orange county ad so I guess that sucks....

I'm also thinking about picking up that thumbdrive for 14.99 if they ahve it :) My ad has the 128meg version for 30 but I don't need that...I would just use it to stick my files I would move around for printing since I find floppies as unreliable presonally. But I'd prefer the 64 meg version either way :)

I haven't a clue on the quality or specs, just remember seeing it on sale. Good luck. 17" LCD for $300. :D oops! looks like it was July 4th only. Sorry dude.
