I just called the Anaheim Cal Fry's and they said no ad for this area with IWILL AMD combo. Sucks, but saves me money. ;)

bump for a good deal, i have this board with the xp 1700, stable and overclocks well. real time performance is basically on part with the 266A chipset. tihs board has teh c-media audio too, whichis supposed to be good, thought i haven't tried it. and if you look around, you will see that a lot of ppl like the raid on this board. it is fast, and you can set up a raid with only one drive. so yeah, go get it!

*edit*
let me rephrase what i said, they didn't set up an actual raid. rather they used a single drive with a signle partition on the raid channel for extra speed. i don't know all that much about raid, but apparently, this was a good feature cuz i guess some other boards don't allow you to do it?

By definition you cannot have a RAID with only 1 drive.
Not sure what you can possibly mean by that.
I suppose they could mirror to two partitions, but that is in no way a RAID, or even a good idea.

Tchen811,

Anandtech included the XP333-R in it's roundup of KT266A boards for comparison.
The only complaint was that it only has 3 DIMM slots instead of 4. It rated very favorably to the ABIT KR7-RAID, which was the top rated board in the roundup.

From the conclusion:

"However, we should never forget about the Iwill XP333-R. The board offers a lot of room for overclocking, and its performance is on par with the KR7-RAID. It does not have the same level of flexibility with the KR7-RAID in terms of memory configuration, but it does overclock better and it has a very nice integrated audio device. Both boards offer the Highpoint HPT372 RAID controller, which is a plus, but keep in mind that the XP333-R runs at around $40 cheaper than the KR7-RAID."

From the Fry's AD in Arizona, I saw that they also had a 512meg stick of PC2700 DDR memory for $129. Only question is, what kind of brand is it and it's Cl2.5 or not. If it's a pretty decent brand, then you can probably pounce on this RAM as well as the CPU/Mobo combo which I seriously feeling like doing right now.

Not quite the same deal here in Phoenix. The ad in the paper
here has the 1800+ chip and the Iwill XP333-R
M/B for $229.

An extra $30 for the bump in processor...still a good deal.
