Fry's Manhattan Store (and I'm sure others) has the IOGEAR USB minihub for $9 - $9 rebate = $0 + tax.

If your local store "hasn't received the rebate forms" (supposedly mine didn't receive them yet), you can either b*tch at the manager like I did and get credit back, or send in the request using rebateshq.com.

I got one of these a few months ago. It works well and it is very small. Plus it has a connector for an external 5v power supply so it can act as a powered hub, too.

yeah, I don't know if I ever got the rebate, but it IS really cool looking, if only the cable can retract and was longer. It can power my Memorex scanner, so that's cool.

um, when u got credit back... does that mean u got it for free?

also, this usb minihub is only usb1.1 and doesnt come w/ a power adapter, so if you have power hungry usb devices, this won't work w/o the power adapter.

Does it come with the powered plug, or is that just an add on option?

I think I might go and check this one out this evening.

Is this Manhattan or Manhattan Beach (in S. Ca)?

Ok, picked it up. Seems to be a decent unit. It is EXTREMELY small and lightweight, which is a necessity because the cord is so small that I am forced to leave it hanging from the usb port on the back of my case (the cord is less than an inch long). Because it is so lightweight, this is a good deal. If it was any heavier, it would be ice cold ;).

There does seem to be a port for a power adapter, but I don't really see the use in my setup. Also, I don't know where I would pick up this power adpater from. Plus, this HUB if free (AR) and I'd like to keep it that way!

If I have any problems with it, I'll be sure to post.
