Hi,
So I just got the cheapo deal the other day at frys for a 4300 core duo and the above mentioned ECS motherboard. Yeah I know its crap, but it has AGP and DDR support, so I figured it was worth a test.
So I get everything installed last night, hit the power button and nothing happens. I check inside the computer and see that when I press the power button the fans spin for about 1 second and then the machine shuts itself down. If I disconnect the 4pin molex from the video card it powers up and goes into its beeping routine. I also removed the card, and used the on board S3 and I was able to go into the bios with no problems. I tried removing EVERYTHING else like my hard drives and dvd drives so that nothing else was drawing from the power supply, and it didn't change anything.
My final comment is I have a nearly brand new Corsair 520 power supply. My previous p4 northwood/asus combo worked fine with this power supply and VGA card as of yesterday, no problem.
Anyone have any ideas? Please?
