Not sure if this was already posted. BA fry's has the pacific digital 8X +/- RW dvd writer for $39.99 after a $10 MIR. From the ad it seems to be a USB 2.0, not sure abt firewire. Looks like a good deal.

just got back from FRYs.

it's actually an internal white box pd 8x burner

notice how it doesn't say external, nor does it say retail box.
