Have you actually used an ECS MB? If so, what models were they?

You could buy a Gigabyte mobo + Q6600 then redline it and it would make the $299 phenom + ECS look like a ripoff.

not really a good deal, since the q6600 combo was $199 the other day, and on evern more typical normal adys is $269.

ECS though is not a bad brand. maybe some peopel are bitter over bad k7s5a boards, but that aws like 5 years ago....

they are the 2nd largest mobo company in teh world and actually manufacture boards for other companies as it is (i know some abit models were made at their facilities as well as some gigabyte)

Geesh, I built 2 machines for relatives with K7S5A boards and both are still running 4+ years laters. In the meantime I've had an Asus, Gigabyte and Epox that each cost 3 times more than the ECS go belly-up.

well i think the problem was mainly the initial boards. there was ecs k7s5a + or something that most peopel got. i think the initial ones supported DDR and sdram and the + ones noly ddr.

i just remember that ones they came out with that other revision basically it was fine.
