Fry's in Portland, OR has an Abit VA-10 Motherboard with a retail boxed XP 2200+ for $69.00. The board is a KM400 chipset with Daul Channel memory support, onboard 6 channel sound, onboard S3 UniChrome Graphics, LAN USB 2, etc. Not sure how robust the graphics are, but it also has an 8X AGP slot to add a killer card. This came out yesterday in the March Madness ad.

The board goes for about $60.00 and the processor around the same or more. You're either getting a free MB with your CPU or a Free CPU with your MB

Oh, wow. That's a quality board. I have the Asus equivalent that I got for my sister. It can run Bartons at 333MHz bus with ram up to PC3200. What I like about this aboard over the Asus is that it uses a 4pin molex to provide extra stability to the cpu. Great for people working with small PSUs!

Board is selling for $50 at mwave, so you're getting the chip for $20, which is a great deal considering it still retails for $65+?

The board doesn't have dual channel memory support. I've built two systems with it so far though and it's a very capable board once overclocking is not on your mind.

I just got back from the fountain valley, Ca location. I was hoping this deas was available there, but NO LUCK. I was hoping to grab this board for a low cost internet/word machine. This would be great for grandmas etc.

They are also OOS on the duron 1.6's from the other combo deal.

All in all, a fruitless trip for me. The CSR said to definately check back tomorrow & sat. for new combo deals.

My bad. Your'e right. Single channel memory, but still a pretty awesome deal.

None, in Anahiem. In fact, I don't remember any Southern California Fry's selling that the VA-10 ever!

I went to the Fry's in Palo Alto, CA today at around 1pm PST and all they had out on the floor were returned marked boxes of the Abit VA-10. The CSR checked the inventory and said a shipment of the m/b's JUST came in.

Picked up the VA-10 and 2200+ for $75.76 out the door.

Thanks OP.
