fry's has the hornettek travel lite portable hard drive enclosure for $10 with a $10 rebate. You can buy it online for in store pickup, or go to a local fry's.

It includes a pouch and a Y-USB extender cable.

i picked up one of these for an 80gb drive I had laying around, thanks OP. not bad at all. the cable attached to the drive actually tucks in and its very sleek. the Y cable is really just an extension and you dont really need 2 usb ports for most machines (maybe on a 7200rpm drive)


one thing guys is that this enclosure is plastic. so maybe it might trap heat a bit. they had another one by the same company that was aluminum but it was $22. I'll take plastic for $0 + tax !

and it's a SATA. Even with the plastic case, it'll be fine for making a portable secondary backup drive out of my old laptop drive.

yeah, its fine for that. thats what im doing too... had a dead laptop with a leftover 80gb drive. works great for backing stuff up.
