Arg! Where's the SATA love? This is *exactly* the kind of deal I've been hoping for weeks would appear after Christmas and here they go offering the wrong interface type!

That's a good deal - if only I hadn't just bought a refurbed 400W for almost that price off ebay.

Duh, my math was a bit off this morning.

Can you use 4 so-dimms in any computer out there? SO-DIMMS are usually for laptops and most Mac models and there are usually only 2 slots.

You really need to drink your coffee! :)

There are two kinds of memory on sale, desktop and notebook. The gentleman you were responding to was talking about the desktop memory, as was clear from what he quoted in his post.

I thought I would be clever and get Staples to pricematch the Maxtor 320GB hard drive and get another $6 off, but they no longer subtract 110% of the difference in price--they match the price 100%. Their website states that they (still) offer a 110% price match guarantee, but none of the stores I called would honor it, so I guess their website is out of date. Best Buy and Circuit City have a 110% price match guarantee, but they do not sell this particular hard drive. It's still a great bargain at $44.

The external enclosure they're selling for $9.99 is the CoolMax HD-389-U2. For the sake of comparison, eWiz sells it for $11.85 plus shipping. I don't think it's particularly attractive, but it's solid aluminum and it won't show fingerprints as easily as the enclosures I've seen that are made of plastic.

The Maxtor 320GB IDE drive and the external enclosure make a great portable USB drive. Aside from the price, one thing that makes it attractive is that you get a full three year warranty (most portable hard drives I've seen only have a one year warranty).

The one I bought is actually a Sony NEC Optiarc model AW-G170A (made in China, manufactured June 2007). The label on the drive says, "Service by Emprex."

The Antec NSK4480 mid-tower case includes an earthwatts 380w power supply.
This makes it a screaming deal ($15AR), as the power supply alone is usually $20 after rebate.
Needless to say, I've got mine.

Bought the 9500 quad with ECS A770M-A motherboard. Working great so far, with my 4GB's of A-data ram purchased via another Hot Deal. Can't complain. :)
