Hello All....

I posted a thread some time ago dealing with a domain name that I was watching that was expired. I wanted to register the domain name for myself. When I do a whois search for the name I get this information.

Record last updated on 09-Jan-2002.
Record expires on 09-Nov-2001.
Record created on 09-Nov-1999.
Database last updated on 13-Feb-2002 00:37:00 EST.

It appears to be registered through Network Solutions

Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com

At first I thought that maybe they were given a 30 day grace period... now, we are well past 90 days...

Is Network Solutions holding on to this name? How long can they do that?

I've noticed that they have a program where you can "back-order" a domain name... of course, it costs almost twice as much as registering through them, and 5 times as much more than if you registered it through another company.

Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated.

I've seen some names take quite awhile to be available to register after they were expired but 90 days does seem like too long, have you tried calling netsol and asking them what the holdup is?
