I just finished installing Windows Xp Home on a newly built PC. When it boots up and enters
desktop its fine untill 15 seconds later on average it resets itself to boot up screen. When
i re-enter desktop Microsoft tells me an error has occured and my machine has recovered from
a serious problem. The error is:
C:\WINDOWS\minidump\mini101103-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\owner\LOCALS~1\temp\WER1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
Bios is on default.
The hardware detection displays a ! symbol over the video device but says its compatible.
AMD Athlon 1800+
256MB of ADATA pc3200
Asus A7N8X-VM nForce2 Micro ATX Motherboard
40GB Seagate Barracuda ATA100
Asus CD-S520 52X CD-ROM
Graphics is an Onboard Geforce 4 Mx 420/440 (It's using 64MB of my ram)
I can leave it on desktop for many hours, but as soon as i start to open applications, do
things it resets to boot screen again.
Maybe a bios alteration would sort it out? Ive enabled onboard graphics, and all the obvious
alterations, still no go. I would really appreciate the solution to this. Thanks.
