Frustratiing mpg video problem...

I've downloaded a bunch of 100+ MB mpg files but they always play for about 30 seconds before stopping. The status bar says that the movie is only 30 seconds long. When jumping around with the progress bar, though, from the scenes I can tell that the movie is actually much longer than 30 seconds, around the order of above ten.

I've tried reencoding into avi, divx, xvid, and other mpg formats, but the problem still persists. In fact, when I reencode, the video becomes different from the original. The scenes jump around and get scrambled up but they still only play for 30 seconds. I've got the latest Nimo Codec Pack and Gspot doesn't support mpgs. I've used wmp classic and 9.0 and other video players. I'm positve that these files are mpgs.

Any ideas?

If you're using WMP9, try playing them in WMP6.4... Start-->Run-->mplayer2 <enter>

I've tried WMP 6.4 already, doesn't work. I think I'm gonna have a friend of mine see if he can play them. I d/led them from Kazaa, about 10 of them, all 100+ MB, and none of them work right.

I doubt it's a virus. Oh well, if it is, my friend will find out for me. :evil:
