I've gotten rid of most of the fruit flies with the vinegar method, but lately I've been finding them in my glass of iced coffee. They also seem to like life in my coffeepot.

I'd rather not stop drinking coffee. But I don't see how I can use vinegar in a pot or a glass of coffee.

Help? Thank you fly death experts.

That sounds like a good song or album title. Fruit Flies in my coffee :whiste:

Fruit flies in my coffee make me happy
Fruit flies in my eyes can make me cry
Fruit flies on the water look so lovely
Fruit flies almost always makes me high

Well, you should be washing your coffee machine out with vinegar.

I dropped a strawberry down the drain, didn't rinse enough, left for a weekend, and came back to a cloud of the little bastards. Cleaned the kitchen and sink, but I ended up hanging flypaper. Counted over 100 of them the first day, 80-something the next. The third strip stayed up a while and got the stragglers.

It was definitely the cleaning part that solved the problem at the source, but they seemed attracted to the flypaper - hanging a strip of that would maybe keep them away from your coffee maker.

Don't hang flypaper where cats can get at it.

You better fix that problem quick....

I hate the fuckers. we have a ton of fruit and veggies around. It's like a constant battle to keep them down.

best way i found is take a old glass jar. put about some beer and put plastic wrap aound the top and poke in some holes.

I did that and it was filled with the fuckers. they like my beer as much as i did.
