Fruit baskets for the holidays

there was a recent promotion at my father's place of buisness, & they were giving out a bunch of fruit samplers.
the stuff he came home with was simply amazing. especially the crown comice pears & the baklava.🙂

anyways, i was checking out the missionorchards website that they came from, & man is this stuff expensive. the pears are averaging out at about $2 a piece. now i love these things, & was wondering if any of you have had experiences buying these. should i go ahead & waste my money here, or is there a better place? thanks.

I have no idea. What made it so good compared to a fruit basket that you could buy or put together at any grocery store?

😛

these are specialty, just about gourmet style pears. these are bread to be literally mouth watering juicy. very tender, sweet, it just about melts in your mouth. you take a bite & you can't ever look at a regular pear again.

No joke. I've had pears like these, and they are insanely good.

no mother-in-law; i'm your age fumduck, why would i destroy my life getting married?

These gourmet pears are incredible. I know it sounds dumb but they are.
Aaah Royal Riveria

I know of Harry & David sell the gourmet fruits, Im sure not any cheaper than anywhere else..........
Man everything they sell is really good.

thanks for the link Ogg, but missionorchards seems to be the way i'm leaning tonight.

if any one has anything else to add, i guess it's overpriced fruit for everyone.:gift::frown:🙁

Wait until the holidays are over then swoop in on the 50-90% sales. 😀

yeah, if it was anyone in my family, i could pull of belated gifts, but not this time. the season for picking this fruit ends in the begining of jan, so the freshest pickings are right now. i'll probably head on over to the site right now & get an order in before the christmas cut off date.

Yeah, we used to get all kinds of gourmet gift baskets when I was a kid. Since I've been an adult I've looked to find similar things, but I've been turned off by the cost of the products. They certainly aren't cheap.
