FrozenCPU Now Selling...

I don't know if anyone else noticed but frozencpu.com now carries Yate Loon fan's. I never used them before but they seem to be popular around here; I usually purchae my cooling needs from frozencpu so thought you would all like to know about this 🙂

Btw, has anyone used the YL D12SH-12? I want to know if it's a 3pin/4pin shared connector

Those are pretty expensive. I got 3 of my Yates (D12SL) for $3.50 each from Jab-Tech.

If all Yate Loons are wired the same way (and I bet they are), they'll have a 3-pin connector coming out of a fan, with a molex part that's kinda added onto the connector.

FrozenCPU seems rather expensive on many things I noticed, a set of CCFL lights for $10 when elsewhere can be had for half that.

The yates at Petra's and jabtech are different so I wonder what strain of yates these are that frozenCPU has? Aflac, were your yates open or closed cornered?

my yates are closed cornered. however, i know jab-tech does sell open-cornered yates. just a heads-up. the product page should specify what they are.

Heres jabtech's fan page. they have quite a few yates.

what is the difference between open and closed cornered? Is it just a visual difference? performance difference? sound difference?

I think open/closed corner thing has to do with the screw mounting holes or something like that.

Anyway yeah, frozencpu does ask a little more than other companies but so far at least with me that have the fastest shipping I have ever seen. 2 years ago I ordered 4x Panaflo fan's --sleeved and a few extra round cables for the future. I had it on my door step in about 18 hours; rather than 2 to 3 day's like most places. Shipping was cheap too, I paid for like 5 day USPS service and it was like 6 bucks. So it was well worth paying them a few bucks extra, besides their packing to make sure everything gets they unbroken was nice.

Yup, Frozen is high on those. Jab-tech sells them for 3.50 each, 3.15 for 3 to 9 and 3.00 for 10 up. All the Yates have the weird connector as mentioned above 3-pin connector with a molex added on. The base models, D12SL/SM/SH only vary in output and power requirements (and noise levels, of course). The SL is the low speed, SM is medium and SH is high. Most use the SL as it is known for quiet and can do the job for most. They all have closed or webbed corners (the mounting holes on each side are connected by plastic - that can make some applications more difficult but you can notch or cut out the webs if needed. I generally buy more fan than I need and run it from my fan controller. That way I have quiet most of the time with a bit more cooling when I need it. The SM is more than adequate for most PC applications. Jab-tech also has ball-bearing versions (the ones above are all sleeve bearings) which can be better in applications where the fan is mounted horizontally. Sleeve bearings generally operate best in vertical orientation.

My SLs are all closed and j-t lists the SL/SM/SH all as closed. Some models like the LED fans are open.

Yep, they're a bit more expensive than elsewhere.

Been a fan (no pun intended) of Frozen for awhile, though - keep coming back to their site for cooling needs. Good shipping and I like their product selection.

Why shop there when you can get the same exact product at another place for cheaper???

Shipping, quality of service, and only a difference of a few bucks.

Frozen is in my home town so I'm loyal to them. I've stopped by their shop a bunch of times. Great guys, great stock and they know their stuff.
