Most of the time, I see rants on negative things that have happened to people when they buy online.

I just wanted to give a thumbs up to FrozenCPU.com for hooking me up. I bought a HSF from them and UPS lost it. Rather than argue with me about it, they said they'd send me another one and deal with UPS themselves.

Thanks FrozenCPU!

Hah, its sad that they get commended for something a company is expected to do... but that reflects on the computer reseller industry as a whole.

Well, they could have waited until UPS resolved the issue by declaring it lost or waiting until they tracked it down but they decided to send me out a new one before it came to that.

Well, I ordered some really simple parts from them, including 4 little $.40 rubber grommets. Only 3 were sent, so I sent something to them and they said that they'd send it out next (in a regular USPS letter) Tuesday (it was Friday night when they said this, and I couldn't figure out why they couldn't send it on that Monday. So, a week and a half later, I e-mailed them again and asked if it had been sent out, so he said he'd send it out that day. This is only the second tiem I've ordered from them (first time went fine), so I'm not condemning them, but it's pretty ridiculous that the guy didn't just get an envelope, throw in a $.40 grommet, write my address down, and drop it in the mail slot immediately.

Edit: BTW, in related news, I ordered a modded case from Wahoo Computers (I'm too lazy to do it myself) that cost... let's say quite a bit of money. Their confirmation e-mail said it would take up to 10 working for it to be sent, their site says 2 - 3 weeks, and I'm on week 5 and it still hasn't been shipped. They told me they'd ship it out yesterday and immediately send me a tracking number.

From now on, I have like three places that I'd order from online and that's it, no matter what the cost.

I ordered a 3 port baybus, and paid extra to have it shipped 2-day. I got it in 2 days, but they sent me a 6-port instead. Now, you may think "hey you made out better!" but I only had a 3.5" bay so the 6 port was useless to me, so I e-mailed them about it. They said they would ship me a new one the next day. I waited and waited. A week later, I e-mailed them back asking them if they'd sent it out yet, and they said that they'd "ship it that day". So I waited again. Another week went by and still no part, so I e-mailed again. This time a different person responded, and said it would be "taken care of immediately". This time someone actually called me to "confirm my order for a second 3 port baybus". I explained that this was not a second order, I was trying to get the correct thing I had ordered in the first place. He claimed that this was the "first he'd heard of it" (even though I found out this was the same guy I had been exchanging e-mails with), but he would "take care of it". Another week goes by and nothing. I sent an e-mail to everyone in the company complaining and asking for my money back. Two days later I got an e-mail saying that they would credit my card, but it would "take several days". I'm sure I'll never see that credit. So I guess I'll just have to either use this thing or try to sell it. Come on, this should not be that difficult of a problem to resolve.
