Pour in tequila, triple sec, lime juice. add ice, put in blender, mix. but...

my blender is the Sunbeam 6 speed.

I put it at the highest setting (Liquidfy) and the ice just melts. i just have a really cold drink w/o the consistancy of a Margarita.

So what speed and how long do i blend it?

Your blender is trying to tell you something: You should be drinking them on the rocks anyway.

Not sure how many speeds our is (all I know is it's a Sunbeam.) Once you get the ice broken down useing the 'crush' setting, I personally then use the 'whip' setting for as long as it takes to get the right consistency.

Put the tequila in the freezer, and the mix in the fridge. That should prevent the ice from melting.
