are you serious? why do i think this is a bad idea? i think anything going into the pan frozen has got to result in some fireworks, no?

the worry is if you tried that with steak or some thick chunk of meat. baically you'd over cook the outisde leaving the inside not done. but the mass of a thin patty is so little that it melts and starts cooking very quickly. it doesn't matter.

Bubba Burgers are pretty good. That's the only kind I've had that I'm aware of.

I can't even think of the name of the ones I'm buying now. Angus something or other but they are have cheese and bacon pre-mixed in and they are pretty good. Like them better than the Bubba Burgers anyway.

alright guys, i tried the cooking it on the pan. it came out decent but nowhere near something cooked on the grill. unfortunately i don't have a foreman grill, castiron grill/pan, or broiling pan. i need to get one of those. anyway, stopped to get some groceries today - onions, mushrooms, etc. i'll eat the burgers with those... should make it more tasty. you guys are all welcome to come by... just bring chips and soda. ;-)

actually, i'm thinking of giving away the two boxes and keeping just one for myself. eating all these high fat burgers can't be good for me. on another note, i saw some pretty cool blenders at Costco's recently. One was a VitaMix and the other was a Blendtec. they are expensive! but, they're pretty cool. maybe i can afford one with my tax return $$.

instead of a broiler pan you could use a cookie cooling rack on a sheet pan. shouldn't fall through if you put them in frozen.

just remember to keep the oven cracked (it will cycle off if it gets too hot) and keep an eye on it, as it will go from cook to burnt fast. i'd probably not have it on the top rack.

Are those big boxes of frozen patties any good?

They're ok. They'll make a fairly decent Burger cooked with a George Forman Grill(or other Grill) or on a BBQ. Fresh pressed Beef patties are much nicer though.

Eleventy billion recalls later and people still buy prehab burger patties?
