I know that most frozen food doesn't come out too well in a microwave. Is there anything that does?

All I can think of is Hot Pockets.

Edit: All I have is a crappy, small dorm microwave. A bag of popcorn barely has room to expand fully. We aren't allowed to bring our own microwave.

From Aldi's - the chicken cordon bleu, and the chicken with cheese and broccoli both cook up really well (as long as you flip it over half way through cooking. Makes an excellent lunch. (only 99 cents too!)

Jehling Ramen noodle soup - the stuff that comes in a styrofoam cup with vegetables in it... cooks really well.

Find out the reason why you're not allowed to have a microwave. If it's because of the power draw, then ask if you're allowed to have a battery operated device for warming food, as long as that device isn't plugged into the wall. Upon yes...

2 deep cycle marine batteries = $80 each
Battery charger $40
Power inverter $75
Microwave :)

On the housing website, they have a list of things we aren't allowed to bring. First on the list is a microwave. At the end of the page, they say:
Fire and life safety is of paramount importance within the residence halls. Your actions could affect the life and property of other students in your community. To enhance fire safety within the residence halls, certain appliances and items are prohibited.
Seems like a fire safety thing.

Its not power draw. My roommate and I have six computer total
(I have a desktop and a laptop; he has 3 desktop and a laptop). I've also seen the breakers. Every room gets 20A for electricity + 20A for lights.

Oh and we arent allowed to have hot plates or anything either. Fire safety being cited as the reason.

115Ah deep cycle marine batteries are only 56$ at Wal-Mart. :)

He's going to need a fairly nice inverter to run a microwave, though.

Yeah, I like the Italian Chicken Stouffer one the best. Stouffers is my favorite frozen food company. Their Corner Bistro dinners are really good.

Frozen water reflects microwaves considerably better than liquid water. The less frozen, the better. Frozen mini-pizzas work pretty well though.

I've noticed that foods high in fat tend to cook rather quickly in the mcwave.

Red Baron has a "Microwavable" French Bread Pizza that is good out of the microwave. It come with these trays that you cook the pizza in and the crust comes out crunchy.

There are also a number of frozen meals that are good (for frozen meals) out of the microwave.

Yes, and the Pot Pies as well. They come out nice and crispy. Not sure how healthy they are though. I know the Fettucini Alfrado has like 800 callories, but damn it is good.
