I am trying to install a celeron 433 in an oldish aplus motherboard.
The 433cel is locked with a multiplier of 6.5
The motherboard's default setting is to use the frontside bus multiplier for the RAM as well.........when I put my frontside bus at 66Mhz my RAM also runs at 66Mhz and is consequently my computer will run very CHUNKY.
If i put the frontside bus at 100Mhz it runs at 650Mhz and nearly burns a hole in the floor......(i've already burnt my finger on it) which is obviously not safe.
It has a SIS 5600 chipset bios.
Is there anyway to run the cpu at 66Mhz and the RAM at 100Mhz??
is there anyway i can solve this problem with a bios update?
is there a setting in the CMOS that toggles the CPU/RAM multiplier like on newer boards???

The SIS chipset does not support running the RAM asynchronously with the FSB. This is not solved by a BIOS update.
