Here's the show:
PBS got three families to leave the 21st century to go and live in 1883 Montana for 5 months, using nothing but the tools, clothing, methods, etc of the era. No TV, computers, DVD

Last night the tree families were introduced, and given a crash course in living in 1883 Montana. They were each given a milk cow and a calf, and a bunch of living supplies that a settler would have on them. Each family loaded up a stagecoach and started to head out west. One family arrived at a fully built log cabin, one family arrived at a 1/2 built log cabin, and the third family arrived at a plot of land and had to build their cabin from scratch.

They all had problems ranging from one of the daughters almost getting killed by a horse , food rationing, starvation, hungry dogs, run-away cows, and a freak blizzard in the middle of June. That was just the first episode!

This show is awesome.

it's on KPBS 9pm PST.
What's in your house, what that you keep in your mouth!!!

Holy crap! The Clune's Malibu house must be worth a couple million or so! And they're the ones who cheated all the time. Hmmmm, what can we gather from that?

Going on that show would be an experience to say the least.

Why do these great shows always come around on the evenings I have to work? :|

I loved the part where they made moonshine and got $25 for it. Worth two months wages they said back then. Bad part is he was letting his kids drink it...at least that's what it looked like.

"...one family cheated and smuggled modern convienences..."

The Clunes.

"...one couple even divorced because of the show..."

The couple from Tennessee separated for sure. Not sure if they divorced...

"I loved the part where they made moonshine and got $25 for it..."

The Clunes again.

None of the families would have survived the winter, due to lack of firewood. Seems like it would have been smart to dig your house into the ground, rather than above it. They said the root cellars would stay 50 degrees year round.

Oh, and what about eating 'Babe'? Gotta admit, I couldn't have done it.
