Front USB ports

Hey guys - I got a UNEEC 601UAB case and was curious if the front USB ports are limited to 1.0. The reason is that I just got a 256mb USB 2.0 Flash Drive and it is not working from the front ports, but works fine from the rear. My USB mouse works fine from the front though - so I know that USB 1.0 is working. The MB is the Intel D865GRH.

Thanks.

Many motherboards only have USB 2.0 available to the two or four USB ports on the rear and have headers for USB 1.1 to connect to front usb case ports. Sounds like this may be your situation. Check your motherboard manual specs to see if the headers are for 1.1 or 2.0 usb.

if the HEADERS support it, it SHOULD work... check the connection to the mobo.

Just because there is USB 2.0 in the back doesn't mean it is the same for the pinned connection up front.

If you are talking about checking the pins on the motherboard - they are for USB 2.0. Says so in the manual and on-line in the support section. If you are talking about the pin out on the USB port PCB in the front of the case I haven't looked at that.

I've seen several USB connecting cables that look identical to any others but only work at USB1.1 speeds. Buy a newer set (with cables long enough to reach the header!) to replace the ones you currently have and you should be fine.
