Front USB ports read my key drive as "unknown"

I've tried plugging in my USB connectors the headers on my NF7-S but I can't get my key drive to detect. The key drive detects fine on the rear USB ports. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks,

cmai

Same thing happens with my USB 2.0 thumbdrive on my front USB ports on my Antec Lanboy case on my Abit IC7.

If I plug them into the back ports, it works fine.

Is the wiring correct? You didn't mix up USB TX and USB RX when putting the machine together? Is it the only USB device that does this? If other devices work on those ports then the device is getting to much interference in the extension through the case and the other devices are not so sensitive. Nothing much you can do there If its the cables change them around reading the manual CAREFULLY (I mixed up my USB cables on my first try aswell).

I guess its the Cables being mixed up. If it were poor shielding, most USB devices shift into a lower speed to compensate which is not the case here.

Well, at least in my case, the cabling is correct. My USB Printer, USB Sync cable and scanner all work fine from the front ports. It's just the USB 2.0 thumbdrive that won't work.

Then the shielding is not enough for USB2 and it fouls the connection. Oh well nothing you can do about that unfortunately.

Make sure both the USB capability of your board and the USB capability of the USB bracket in the front are the same.

Thanks for the replies. Basically I have two sets of VCC D- D+ GND GND
However the header on the board is only:

VCC0 VCC1
D-0 D-1
D+0 D+1
GND GND
blank GND
