Front USB ports on case dont work?

You plug these into the mobo usb headers, but i cant get them to work, on a TurboCase, something generic...on an epox 8k7a...any ideas?

Maybe the usb connector is upside down. I don't know if this goes for usb connectors though. Also, maybe you need to enable it in the BIOS.
