I've come acrossed this before just never asked this question. I've got an old case that I installed a nice mobo into, now SOME mobo's have that nice keyed usb connection with one chord and some (I guess the cheap ones) have a 2 wire design. Now I have a cheap case ala it's expected I get a cheap mobo and my front usb isn't compatible with this deluxe mobo's usb ports. Is there an adapter I can buy that would allow me to plug this thing in? I don't want to buy a new case but is that the only answer?

my case has 2 of the usb type a internal type ports (it's ofc integrated into the case but you get the point) but the mobo only accepts one that looks like the DUAL usb type a's. Now if I could get one of those fitted into my case I'd be in buisness... but I'm terrible with a gun (bad nerves) so I'm really looking for an adapter if anybody knows of any.

If you have what I think you have, you just need to look at the pinout like bruceb said. There's a limited amount of combinations that you can use. It should be easy to figure out.

k one question... where the heck do you find the nc wire?? I have one of those 4-wire (2 ports) deals so I'm gonna plug it into an intel standard deal that has an nc connector but I don't have an nc wire? do I just leave it Not Connected? In the end I will have two 'extra' ground lines not connected to anything right?

That sounds right if I'm picturing your setup correctly. The pins on the board should look like this...

Use this page to confirm. You can verify the wires by using a simple ohm meter.
